ETHIBOND™ Suture, Green, OS-4, Size 0, 30" is a nonabsorbable, sterile, braided surgical suture made from polyethylene terephthalate, a synthetic polyester fiber. It is designed for long-term soft tissue approximation and ligation where extended tensile strength is required. The braided construction ensures flexibility and enhanced handling characteristics, enabling precise placement and secure knotting.

This suture is coated with polybutilate, a relatively nonreactive and biologically inert compound. The coating functions as a lubricant, significantly improving the physical handling properties of the suture. Compared to uncoated braided fibers, this coating reduces tissue drag and enhances knot security, while maintaining overall tensile integrity throughout the healing process.

The product is equipped with an OS-4 reverse cutting needle. This needle type features a triangular cross-section with a cutting edge on the outer curvature, providing superior penetration through dense or tough tissues such as skin or fascia. The design of the reverse cutting needle minimizes tissue trauma while ensuring reliable suture passage.
